Community Work

I have been a Rotarian since 2002 and enjoy participating in the local community projects and assisting with the international ones as well. My most fulfilling experience as a Rotarian thus far has to be when a group of not so 'well off' young people whom I tutored (more like drilled) in personal and professional development either gained employment or went on to pursue higher education. I see them ever so often and all I feel for them is pride in knowing how far they have come.
I served as Director for 5 years, my function now is Club Secretary and my year comes to an end on June 30 2009. Our Club has 83 members representing 20 nationalities and ranging in age from 30-60+ . We meet every Wednesday morning at 6:45 am for a breakfast meeting.

Quotes

“I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.”~~ Oprah Winfrey
The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you're in control of your life. If you don't, life controls you. Anthony Robbins

Discover Cayman

A glimpse at Cayman... http://www.caymanislands.ky/

What I do

My journey to the Cayman Islands began in 2002 when I came to manage one of the 18 satellite centers of the University of the West Indies. The University of the West Indies (UWI) has 3 main campuses located in Trinidad, Barbados and Jamaica. UWI has satellite centres scattered throughout the Caribbean, and some can also be found in the campus countries now called - The University of the West Indies Open Campus. At UWI Open Campus classes are conducted using a multi-modal delivery.
In 2007, I joined the University College of the Cayman Islands, also located in Grand Cayman, where I now hold the post of Vice Chair for the Continuing Education and Professional Development Department. The University College has a branch in Cayman Brac the second largest of the three islands.
